About The Provider

Shanu Moorthy, MD, is a primary care physician at FMOL Health | St. Dominic with training in both internal medicine and pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed a combined internal medicine-pediatrics residency at Prisma Health – Upstate and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. She later served as pediatric chief resident at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. 

Dr. Moorthy’s dual training allows her to care for patients across different stages of life, with experience ranging from preventive health and routine medical needs to the management of acute and chronic conditions. She has also served as a clinical faculty member and medical student preceptor and has been involved in quality improvement initiatives focused on strengthening patient care and outcomes.  

Dr. Moorthy values building lasting relationships with patients and helping them make informed decisions about their health.

    I felt pressured to do what she recommended for my child. She keeps asking about scheduling appointments about his head size even after I was told everything looks good. Then she recommended I get him into speech therapy since she considers him delayed, but he does speak words.

    The provider was great. She explained everything to me and to my son. Although he may not have understood everything, she treated him as the primary patient with explanations of treatment and spoke with him about the things she were going to do to him. She was very patient and kind with her words and explained everything and made sure I was fine with her course of treatment.
